Flow Forming or Roll Forming
Flow forming is the plastic deformation of nearly any metal to achieve the required shape and thickness
At Autoform CC we make use of Automated Leifeld Spinning machine models starting from the Aped 300 to the Aped 450.
Unlike hand-spinning which is more of a shear forming process, we are able, with the use of assisted power rollers, to roll-form thicker material and with the use of different techniques, we are also able to vary the thickness of the finished component. Normally there is a 25% deviation of the wall thickness from the starting blank.
Once the parts have been developed and the production process has reached its optimal forming tolerances, we can replicate the end result with high accuracy and in large production runs.
